Contest Overview

Act 138 of the 2024 Legislative Session authorized the creation of the Grambling State University World Famed Tiger Marching Band specialty license plate. This contest invites students, alumni, and supporters to design the official plate that will honor the legacy of the World Famed.

The winning design will receive a $1,000 cash prize (provided by Rep. Steven Jackson’s office) and public recognition across official World Famed and Grambling State University channels.
Eligibility
- Open to all Grambling State University students, alumni, and supporters.
- Limit: Three (3) entries per individual.
- Participants must be at least 18 years old. Minors may enter with a parent/guardian co-signature.
Contest Timeline
- Opens: Monday, October 6, 2025
- Closes: Sunday, October 26, 2025 at 11:59 PM CST
- After the submission period ends, entries will be judged.
- The winner will be contacted directly by the office of Dr. Nikole Roebuck prior to public reveal.
Design Requirements
All entries must comply with the following:

Legal Requirements (per OMV standards):
- Must include the exact wording: “Grambling State University World Famed Tiger Marching Band”
- Must allow for “Louisiana” and plate numbering.
- Must comply with OMV specialty plate regulations.
Branding Requirements:
- Colors: Black, Gold (Pantone 124 C), White.
- Accent: Red (Pantone 187).
- Typography: Approved Grambling State fonts (Gotham, Arial).
- Logos: Official licensed Band “G” or Band marks only.
- Design must reflect the heritage, excellence, and pride of the World Famed Tiger Marching Band.
